Learning does not only occur only in educational institutions; parents, home environment and society play an important role in defining the overall development of the children.
In order to address this, free parenting workshops will be organised to enhance communication, learning and bonding within the families focussing on reducing stress-related issues.
First Parenting Workshop:
At Gurukula, we train and enable the parents for a stress-free life with their kids through a number of FREE parenting workshops.
The first in the series is:
Workshop: NSW Schooling Education System – Its nature and structure
Details: 15th February at Liverpool Library between 11:00-12:30, jointly organised with Gurukula and SEWA Australia.
The key issues discussed, relevant to NSW education system are:
- Difference between public school and private schooling
- On what basis the kids are segregated
- Education methodology – What to they teach and how do they teach?
- Formal assessments – NAPLAN, ICAS, OC, Selective, etc. Parents will get a first hand info on what assessment they need to focus for their kids on priority basis and at what age.
- Informal assessments – Students are evaluated continuously through out the year. The mode of assessments could vary from academic, sports, cognitive, behavioural, social, etc.
